1. Service Description

Welcome to StoryCode ("we", "our", or "the service"). StoryCode is a local-first AI coding agent workbench with the official site, account, download, subscription, Credits, and support services.

By accessing and using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please do not use our service.

2. User Accounts

To use our service, you need to create an account. You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. You are responsible for protecting your account security, including keeping your password confidential.

• You must be 18 years old or the legal age in your jurisdiction
• Each user can only have one account
• You may not share your account with others
• You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information

3. Service Usage Rules

Our services include but are not limited to:

• Desktop App and CLI：StoryCode Desktop, CLI, local workspace, agent tool use, Git, Shell, Knowledge, Workflow, Skill, and related product capabilities
• Account Services：Registration, sign-in, email verification, password reset, desktop device connection, and account security management
• Purchases and Subscriptions：Subscription plans, Credits purchases, payment history, and customer portal management
• Product Access：Providing downloads, entitlements, and support entry points based on your account, subscription, device connection, and enterprise license status
• Support Services：Product consultation, setup guidance, technical support, and email notifications

Usage Restrictions

When using our services, you may not:

• Submit illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or rights-infringing content
• Submit false information or misleading content
• Infringe on any third party's intellectual property
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or bypass our access controls and payment systems
• Exceed the usage limits of your subscription plan
• Circumvent usage limits through automated bulk operations, account sharing, or other means

4. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

Your Content：You retain all rights to your local code, project files, prompts, Knowledge source text, configuration, support requests, and other original materials.

Local-first Boundary：StoryCode core product capabilities are designed to run primarily on your device and workspace. Unless you intentionally submit a support request, enable networked third-party services, or use hosted model/cloud services, we do not require you to upload source code, raw prompts, Knowledge source text, API keys, or private configuration.

Feedback and Suggestions：We may use product feedback and suggestions you provide to improve StoryCode services, without affecting your rights to your own original content.

Our Intellectual Property：The StoryCode product, website design, code, algorithms, brand, documentation, and related technologies are protected by intellectual property laws and belong to us or the applicable rights holders.

5. Paid Services and Refunds

We offer both free and paid product and account services. Specific terms for paid services include:

• All prices are calculated in US dollars and may be adjusted for VAT
• Subscription fees are charged monthly with automatic renewal
• Credits are effective immediately after purchase and can be used for StoryCode-hosted models and cloud services that StoryCode pays for
• BYOK, local models, local files, Git, Shell, and local Knowledge do not consume StoryCode Credits
• Subscription bonus Credits are tied to subscription benefits and may be cleared after expiration or cancellation; separately purchased Credits follow the rules shown at purchase time
• You can cancel your subscription at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current billing cycle
• Refunds follow applicable law, payment processor rules, and the specific terms shown at purchase time
• Consumed Credits, delivered enterprise services, and incurred third-party costs are generally non-refundable unless applicable law requires otherwise

6. Desktop Devices and Entitlements

You may connect StoryCode Desktop to your web account so it can read subscription, Credits, and product entitlement status. Only confirm device codes you trust, and revoke devices you no longer use or trust from your profile.

Device entitlement status may be affected by network connectivity, subscription state, payment webhooks, authorization cache, and security policy. After revocation, the device may need to sign in or connect again.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high service availability but cannot guarantee 100% uninterrupted service. We may suspend service for maintenance, updates, or other technical reasons. We will make every effort to notify users in advance of planned maintenance.

8. Disclaimer

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to maintain platform stability, but we do not guarantee that every service will be error-free or uninterrupted at all times.

• We do not guarantee that third-party payment, email, analytics, or hosting services will always be available
• You should evaluate the suitability of purchasing and deploying StoryCode for your development workflow, compliance requirements, model providers, and deployment environment
• We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Issues caused by your configuration, deployment environment, or third-party service changes may affect your experience

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you have paid to us in the past 12 months.

10. Terms Modification

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. For significant changes, we will notify users 30 days in advance. Continued use of the service indicates your acceptance of the modified terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the applicable laws of your jurisdiction. Disputes arising from these terms should be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, they shall be submitted to the competent court for resolution.
